đź“• INTRODUCTION
Welcome to my new and first template: Library 2.0.
The principal idea of why I made this template was because I wanted to have a place where I could have everything related with my books: annotations, next books to read, what I am reading right now; goals for my readings, etc. So, I found Notion and made this template possible and want to share it with you all.

đź“• THE TEMPLATE
Template is quite simple. It’s just a major database where you have all the books inside and in the main view (Figure 1) you will see filtered views of the major database to organized them.
Also, the template was built for being use with the Dark Mode on & for the Desktop app or Webpage.
So, this is how the template is structured:
- The “Books to Read” section is about the books that you want to read in a near future; also, I use it as my wishlist collection as well -but I don’t make another filter with that because if I want a book is because I’ll read a book in a near future, makes sense?
- The “Finished Book” section, as is implied in the name, is to filter all the books you have read. The system will count those finished books and make a simple math to show you how many books you need to complete your yearly, monthly, weekly goal -feature to add soon.
- The “Reading Now” section shall show you the book(s) you are reading in the present moment.
- The “Badges Earned” section shall show you what Badges you have earned for completing certain task (weekly, monthly, yearly).
- The “Statistics” section shall make you aware of how many books you have in your Library (database), what is your yearly, monthly and weekly goal, how many books you need to read for achieving your goals, the points you have earned by reading the books (each book shall give you points and that system depends on how many pages that book has; you have to set a start date for your book and a deadline, if you read the book before the deadline, you’ll have more points, and so on.

SETUP & CONFIGURATION
<aside>
âš™ SETUP
Finish to read all the configuration process and you’ll have your link at the bottom.

âš™ CONFIGURATION
- Go at the bottom of the main page and click on “Configuration” (Figure 1).
- It will open the configuration page where you just have to edit two properties of that table (Figure 2).
- The first property is called “Books Goal” in which you’ll put the amount of books you want to read since the Start Date to End Date (Figure 3).
- The second property is called “Goal Date”. That property has two fields: the first one is the Start Date (when you are going to start your reading journey) and the second one is the End Date (when you want to stop to see your progress) (Figure 4).
- As an example, I put the today data as the Start Date and December 31th as the End Date.
- And just that. You don’t have to do anything else.

⚠️ If you modify another properties of this or another master database and the template stops working, it’s up to you! That’s why I am putting everything in detail.

ADDING A BOOK
<aside>
đź’ˇ The process of adding a book is quite simple:
- In the Library’s main page, go to the bottom and click the button “+ New”. That way, you’ll create a new entry in the database aka a new book.
- A new dialog window (popup) shall appear; you will have to populate all the requested fields.
- Once you fill everything, you click outside the popup and your book will be save automatically.

THE PROPERTIES
<aside>
đź’ˇ These are the only properties you can EDIT of the template:
- Author: Books author’s name.
- Book’s cover: Image for the book.
- Status: you have only three options to choose: “To Read” (added by default), “Reading” (the book will appear in the “READING NOW” section automatically and disappear on the “BOOKS TO READ” section and “Finished” (the book will appear automatically in your “FINISHED BOOKS” section)
- Start Date: when you will start reading that book.
- Deadline: when you think you’ll finish that book.
- End Date: what date you finished that book.
- Read Pages: pages you have read of that book.
- Total Pages: total pages of that book.
- Rating: from 1 to 5, you must select how many points you give to that book according your perception and what do you learn about it.
- Notes?: Select this ONLY if you take notes of the book you have read. If you don’t, just don’t select it.
If you start editing and changing other properties and the template does not work for you anymore, it’s up to you and I won’t be able to help you. That’s why I am doing this page to explain what can be edited and what cannot.
